Black Coffee Explains How He Got On "More Life"

Drake is renowned for being a "culture vulture," jumping on some of the best talents around the world and claiming he discovered them while using their sound for his own benefit.

In recent years, Drake has gone from Caribbean-vibes, to afrobeats, reggae, danceall and now grime.

The Toronto rapper and every artist he has sampled and supposedly put on have all benefited -- Despite Drake getting most of the accolades, i don't hear any of them scowling about being "exploited." Getting heard by a much bigger audience is more important to a score of artists and Drake is as big as it comes music wise.

Drizzy continued his tradition of "discovering" new talents with his More Life album. The album or playlist, whichever is full of features but one of the more surprising names was South African DJ, Black Coffee.

The S.A DJ is big on the continent of Africa but Drake just introduced a much wider audience to him when he borrowed his "Superman" record to create "Get It Together."

Back in South Africa it was more of excitement than hate to see the talented DJ on a Drake record, so when Pigeons & Planes asked him about how the link up happened and if Drake is a "Culture vulture," Coffee had this to say.

Drake continues to raise the bar and smash his own records with "More Life." The playlist which was released March 18 has been streamed 384.8 million times, surpassing his previous best with "Views" which launched with 245.1 million streams.

Drake's "More Life" is his seventh consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. He's now tied with Kanye West and Eminem for the second most No. 1's among hip hop acts, trailing only Jay Z who has 13.
